I think it is a good idea. I just hope it is not too expensive..but you have to do what you have to do. I think it is needed. I stopped having fun after the PRFM mess.

PS You were right about CPQ...it got to 30 1/8 and a 44,000 share buy zoomed past. I am in at 30 3/16.

Best Wishes
Melinda

My 2 cents--I think private site is a great idea----your decision is inevitable---I started watching your threads in 12/98--picked up on your Long Portfolio---picking a long portfolio is gutsy in this market the last few years---most of those in national publications fall flat on their face, and I have been investing 20 years so I have seen quite a few---well by my calculations, after about 100 days, in your Long Portfolio of 40 stocks, 33 are up, 7 are down, and 18 of those up are up over 100%. The Long Portfolio is, overall, up over 100%, in 100 days. If an investor could double their investment an average of once every 100 days, in less than 2 years a $20,000 investment ( very small by todays standards) would be worth $1,280,000--again, in less than 2 years.
If there are investors who have a hard time paying a fee for analysis with returns like that------they have not been serious investors for very long and they will probably not be (successful) investors for much longer.
I think the hard part is to determine if you "weed" the portfolio every so often or post a new portfolio from scratch every so often, say every 3 or 4 months--I like the latter--if I made 100% in 3 or 4 months I like the idea of selling half the gains and ploughing into something fresh--you get diversity, a fresh start etc.

Again just my 2 cents. I really enjoy the thread.

Tom
