Beware the little lie...

Many of these PoS stocks spin a great story and their real nature is difficult to unravel for an unsophisticated investor. One flag that seems to have a perfect predictive value is the 'little lie'. When a company makes a claim that is clearly a deliberate attempt to mislead investors it fairly screams out for caution. If the company will lie about a little detail perhaps their lying about the big stuff too.

For example, a company may announce their development of a line of power generators and describe them in obviously misleading terms: "They'll be like great big cash registers - just connect to the grid and instant cash flow"

or a company might claim to have discovered a new type of tree and publish a bogus scientific name "Gustatus Naturae" (Linneas must be turning in the grave)
