Les,

Ya know, I tend to believe in the fair-handedness
of the Federal Government because that is what I
was taught in school. However, after having worked
for the Federal Government it did make me question
the integrity of some civil servants.

The battle between the NRA and the IRS was rather
strange. For some reason, the IRS wanted the entire
list of NRA members, which of course the NRA will
never reveal. Hell, I should become a life member
just because they held that position. Most of these
non-profit orgs sell their name list to anyone who
wants it. I believe that the NRA actually lost its
non-profit status and was forced to pay taxes on
its membership fees. I think the whole fight was
clearly political. Handgun Control INC. still has
nonprofit status. Newt Gingrich had a long fight
with the IRS over his history classes. He eventually
won the case and was completely exonerated by the
IRS but still had to pay $300,000.00 to the House
committee that held the investigation. Perhaps it
is true that the IRS attacks political enemies of
the Clintons. I have heard that the head of the
IRS is an old friend of Hillary. These incidents
to not seem to be random to me...
