David, Perhaps I don't really understand what the Precise Biometrics announcement says. But never mind because it doesn't change my view of IDX or biometrics. Here's something I found about Siemens - A new company is also being formed in the systems integration and services sector. Jung noted: "Beginning in April, we will consolidate our smartcard activities and then place them all in a separate legal entity called Siemens Smart Card Systems (SSCS) later in the year." Smartcards offer users simple and error-free access to IT resources with the highest security standards. A single card, for example, can allow entry to buildings, approve access to data networks or contain signature and encryption systems for Internet applications. Prospects for smartcards are especially bright for securing telebanking and electronic commerce. This business will be run by Siemens Business Services (SBS). siemens.de Rick
