Sal What if all Communicator /Naviagator users were given access to AOL content free ?

Couldn't AOL declare X % share of all internet eyeballs to advertisers and potential "partners " big deals like long distance , money centers and the like ?

AOL is already linking to the Netscape user thru netcenter,at bootup ,the instant message service, TMF and ICQ among others aggregators .

AOL can easily trace and market netscape users web habits , too .
So AOL is already mining the infomediary potential of the merger . Heck, they were doing that pre-merger , if you ask me .

The business will be run from Virginia though .

Somehow I don't buy into the "cynical" arguments :)

I'll bet you a nickle AOL and MSFT "worked" things out. What's the liability to Netscape if they lose the case?
