The warrants (MIDLW) can always be exercised into common (MIDL) for $.50/warrant. The preferred (MIDLP) was supposed to be converted to common (MIDL) in Oct 1998, but that would exceed the number of authorized shares for the common.

The value of MIDLW/MIDLP is dependant upon the value of MIDL and (in an efficient market), so in order to make a market for the other 2 it is much easier to have a market in the common first.
