Most importantly, breast cancer patients and family members of breast cancer patients should not be given false or misleading information. They -- and all other patients -- should not be exploited by those looking to make money by selling them false hope. They deserve truthful, accurate information. And so do investors. I wonder whether Dante came upon a special place in Hell reserved for those who would frighten women away from getting mammograms though news stories and releases that exaggerate the pain and danger of mammography -- for the purpose of raising money from investors.
