I think Intel could turn their CPU ID into something beneficial

if they endorsed the digitalme(tm) concept of giving the user control over his/her digital identity and developed the tools to block access to the CPU ID except through the digitalme(tm) identity vault.

This has got to be a three day project for 3 or 4 Intel system engineers. Novell is publishing the client end code.

================

As to security, Netware 5.0 has been out since October. Not a word about anyone cracking it. NDS is in its eighth release and it is the basis for digitalme(tm). Novell is a solid technology company with some of the best network software engineers in the country.

This is an opportunity for Intel. Intel can come out a winner with its CPU ID if it can convincingly show the public that they will control the disclosure of the CPU ID number and no one else.
