Cisco has felt some pressure from the ATM world. Switched Ethernet is great, but you can't knock some of the real advantages of ATM, especially when you look at ATM all the way to the desktop. Where I am FORE almost won out over cisco on a large network infrasrtucture upgrade, it was the lack of industry standards for ATM that allowed Cisco to edge in.

CSCO already has a lot of product overlap with FORE. Both in the campus and WAN ATM market space.
