This didn't help either: PC stocks lower...

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- An analyst's cut of Dell Computer's profit estimates sent computer stocks lower Monday.

Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette said Dell (DELL) will likely
profit 15 cents a share in its first quarter rather than the 17
cents a share the research firm previously expected,
according to Reuters.

DLJ analyst Kevin McCarthy also cut his fiscal 2000
earnings estimate on Dell to 72 cents a share from 75 cents
a share. The average estimate from analysts is for Dell to
make 16 cents a share during the quarter and 73 cents a
share for fiscal year 2000.

McCarthy cited lower expected shipments and average
selling prices for the current quarter, Reuters reported.
That sent shares of the decade's best-performing stock
down 2 3/8 to 37 7/8.
