Re: "Intel showed off an 800MHz Xeon at Cebit as
well...umm...woo-hoo. I mean, 800MHz is a nice
accomplishment and all, but I will probably never get excited
over seeing a processor running at a clock speed I won't
be able to touch for a couple of months, especially knowing
beforehand that the technology was probably inspired by a
Kryotech Cooling System. I have no doubt in my mind that
Intel can supercool a Xeon and run it at 800MHz, but here's
the big conclusion "Who cares?" ;)"

Intel demoed a 1000Mhz PIII several weeks ago. That one was actively cooled. No article I've seen suggests the 800Mhz demo last week was cooled as well. Does it make sense to present a slower demonstration unless something else is new?
