For what it's worth, and I know I'll get some heat for this, but I think VLSI is worth the $30 right now. It won't take much more than what is already developing with the semi market and VLSI's new products, to get earnings back to the .40-.50 quarterly range. With a P/E of 25, that could give us a $50 stock, so $30 now, in advance of a series of steadily increasing earnings and upside surprises from current analyst projections, is reasonable. I believe without the PHG offer, this process would begin by the April earnings announcement. Hey, LSI is saying this right now, and their stock has responded in kind. Jim

Buyout offers have to take potential into account. I personally think it wouldn't be long before VLSI gets back to the upper 30's and higher. It seems to be doing everything right in terms of products. Well, it's just my opinion, but when you buy a company you need to remember that the price WAS $36 only a year and a half ago, and likely will be there or much higher in another year. So that's why I think they could offer $30 and take us home in their pockets.

This stock is going to hit $20 tomorrow if it keeps on as it is. No one is buying at $20 with the expectation of the buyout being for less than $25, IMO.
