If I remember correctly, MSFT invested quite a lot on Comcast.
And MSFT also did so in Road Runner.

Reminds me of a song:

Only instead of "who knows when we'll be all together again" it's something like "Will we all be AT&T one day then?"
Because AT&T wants to get into the "modern day" really really strongly. And they've got the bucks.
