Try using a histogram instead and see what you think...

Ok Mike, try this one, it needs only 1 line and uses 0 as trigger, signals are identical:

{MACD with default 13-34-89}
EMA13:=Input("1. MA", 1, 1000, 13);
EMA34:=Input("2. MA", 1, 1000, 34);
EMA89:=Input("3. MA", 1, 1000, 89);
Mov(C,EMA13,E) - Mov(C,EMA34,E) - Mov((Mov(C,EMA13,E) - Mov(C,EMA34,E)),EMA89,E)

Select the histogram style and insert a horizontal line at 0.
You can change the parameters to 8-17-9 or simply rewrite the code

if you want to use your version, just change the last ";" to "-". Now you've got 1 signal line and 0 is the trigger:
period1:=8;
period2:=17;
period3:=9;
Mov(C,period1,E) - Mov(C,period2,E)- Mov((Mov(C,period1,E) - Mov(C,period2,E)),period3,E)

I could not find a way to set the color of a line within the indicator formula. Maybe someone else knows ?
