Okay. I was using the word differently - dunno if correctly. "Sentient" as in "capable of abstract thought". Only Homo sapiens (on this planet anyway) has been proven to possess this ability - and if you want to be curmudgeonly about it (and I am in a curmudgeonly mood today) only a percentage of humans has this ability to any useful degree.
So where was I? Oh yeah. Dismissing habitual lateness as a quirk of brain structure was what caught my attention. My response is perhaps rooted in my alarmed disgust at the popularity of victimhood in today's society. "I'm late, but y'see, it's not my fault. Iron boogers, y'know." This struck me as a facet of the victim mentality, and I despise self-declared victims. As do you, if I read your earlier material correctly. So it seemed ... incongruous.
