Stryker - thanks for the reply.

>One of the advantages to the CyBerTrader system is the ability to do simulated or demo trading with live data during market hours. This has always been a feature and is one of the key methods for indoctrinating individuals in the functions and features of the software. Simulated trading allows our customer to gain knowledge and experience in operating the software without having to risk trading capital in the process.

I am aware that Cyber has the ability to demo trade and is used for new people coming on board.

But as you mentioned, except in limited cases, one must first open an account. The problem is that if one should then find that they are not cut out to daytrade the funds must then be moved again - time consuming at the least.

>We have in the past offered the ability to demo trade without funding an account on a very limited basis. In doing so CyBerCenter must obtain the same agreements for exchange data redistribution as are required with every live customer. In order to pay for the data usage CyBerCenter must then manually invoice each demo trader, and then follow up with overdue receivables. This is a lose-lose situation on two levels: (1)It takes valuable time and resources away from the primary goal - that of servicing the live customer. (2)It has the potential to push the bandwidth availability to the limit, thereby seriously impairing the functionality of our brokerage customers.

Both of you points are well taken and certainly very valid, both from Cyber's point of view as well as those that are presently using the system. I would suggest that I would certainly be willing to pay in advance to offset Cyber's cost for such serviceif it did not create a bandwidth problem.

It would appear, however, that your following statements will solve the problem and I look forward to its completion.

>We also realize that offering the ability to demo the software on a wide scale is very advantageous. To that end, efforts are underway here to provide a FULLY FUNCTIONAL demo version of the software that will run in a self contained atmosphere from a CD or DVD. We do not as yet have a delivery date on this, and I wanted to give a look into things that are planned to address the issues involved with wide-scale demo use.

Again, thanks.

Mark, RE: Demo Account - The concept of a demo account is fascinating to me. I'm considering opening an account with CyberBroker to use CyberTrader. Since I've heard much about the system (most pro, some con) and given the amount of extravagent mendacity (hype) in the market, this would be a very good way of trying out CyberBroker/CyberTrader.

Like another respondent, I would be willing to pay IN ADVANCE to try out your system/brokerage. Also, if you wanted to place limits on the time of day that I could actually place demo trades, that would be OK also (to help limit bandwidth).

Regarding using a demo CD however, I'm not sure if that would be as useful as live demo mode "trading". One concern is that the CD would have to have MY scenarios - the way that I trade. I'm not sure if that is possible. I need to set up my own scenarios - choose my stocks, at the appropriate time of day, etc. For example, I tried a demo CD of Fibonnacci Trader, which had demo scenarios on it. Problem was that demo scenarios didn't fit my needs.

Anyway, I'm still considering my options. I have the current CyberTrader "demo" CD coming in the mail. I'm hoping that it will be here this evening.

Regards,

Dan.

Mark,

Here is a link to a very interesting product that works with RealtickIII.

profsoftware.com

I'd like to here your thoughts on how this compares with CyberTrader's tools.

Dan.
