Ari -

Thanks for pointing me to this thread.

My sister works in the ER of a county hospital which has been a test site for the FAST1 system. She told me that the device will eventually be stocked by all hospital ERs and EMS units. It is being recommended and taught as the preferred alternative to IV administration of drugs and fluids in major trauma situations.

She said the device is easy to train up on, and then relatively easy to use. Also, very effective. It (the FAST1) is now in the textbooks and Emergency Medical Care Manuals, so there should begin to be some big initial orders, it seems to me. My sister seemed to think it's all a done deal by this point.
