"does anyone know whether i should uninstall the existing ie browser i have prior to installing ie5.0? or is it okay to install on top of it?"

Mark,
I just installed MSIE 5.0 right over top of my MSIE 4.0 with no problem what so ever.
Steve

IE 5 also gives you the option of allowing you to have both browsers (4 & 5) installed on your computer.

I downloaded ie5 just to see if I could do it, but haven't installed it yet.
