Bill,

I've PM'd you a sample TXF file. Perhaps I used the term "simply"
inappropriately. When I first exported the quicken data into TTax, there was a $20k discrepancy between TTax & my 1099. I started going through the Sched D line-by-line & matching transactions to the 1099.
The alternative route was only "simple" after I spent a couple of hours trying to make the Sched D look somewhat like the 1099.

I downloaded all my transactions electronically from my brokerage into excel. It took me about 45 minutes to format & export the excel file of my '98 transactions (approx. 200 trades) into a TXF.
