iDOT.com Bolsters Sub-$1000 Line with New AMD-Based Systems; Includes $899 System Based on Brand New K6-III Processor

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 22, 1999--iDOT.com (http://www.idot.com), the first PC company built exclusively for the Web, today added two new systems to its growing lineup of sub-$1000 personal computers, including a $899 PC based on AMD's brand new K6-III processor.

iDOT.com's "next generation direct" business model keeps the Internet company running lean and fast, giving customers the opportunity to upgrade to the latest technology at affordable prices.

"We offer the latest technology at prices no one else can touch," said Mark Marlow, vice president of product marketing for iDOT.com. "Our list of sub-$1000 PCs continues to grow. Our sub-$1000 line gives customers the ability to upgrade the system to suit their specific needs and still keep the price reasonable."

iDOT.com is offering a $799 system based on the AMD 450MHz K6-2 and a $899 400MHz system featuring AMD's brand new K6-III processor. Both systems are equipped with 32MB SDRAM, a 4.3GB hard drive, an 8MB Intel i740 Video adapter and a 40X CD-ROM and include Windows 98, a PS/2 keyboard, Logitech Mouseman and one year on-site warranty.

Buyers of iDOT.com systems can purchase monitors at significant savings: $130 for a 15 inch (13.9 v.i.s.); $199 for a 17 inch (16.1 v.i.s.); and $499 for 19 inch (18 v.i.s.).
