arthur...re covered calls...

if you set the put position at a good time, hopefully if put to you the underlying is below your cost basis (strike-premium)...so you still may have a meager profit...if the issue looks flat/down or even if it is surging..you can sell a covered call to further reduce your cost basis...in essence you've achieved a profit...and if it's a short term cc the issue will be called away...you hold less than thirty days..you get a consistent profit/cash flow...not as glamorous as buying internets but it adds up...now would be a good time to sell dell puts...i've got some may 50's i'm underwater with, as my adjusted cost is 41.5...which is my break even point...i'm not concerned until early may when i'll make my decisions..to accept,write cc, or roll..meanwhile i still have the premiums which are earning for me...ed a.
