I assume you are running on Win98? Install NT. I run alot more than that on one 128 meg box without any problems. If you are having problems now, I don't think dropping your video from 32 to 24 or even 16 bit will fix it. If you have some extra space on your drive, you could dual boot for a while until you get NT installed and configured.

System resources on 95/98 have nothing to do with pixel depth;
they have to do with the number of windows, the number of
graphical objects, and the number of older apps running that use
certain kinds of legacy memory resources.

NT is your best relief from this. More memory on 95/98
won't help this kind of problem.
