No physical threat from me my simian friend. Even as a kid, being "on" someone never required violence--words were always more than sufficient.

"As I said, what a bunch of losers, make sure you get your dose of the legal drugs before
turning on the computer, otherwise, you won't be able to handle it."

Ever heard the term "projection" as used in the psych?

Juan, do you mean this blanket statement? Are you sure that you are not allowing your irritation to speak?

Juan,
You are absolutely right, although I was explaining my own response to Edwarda, I can see how you may have felt I was talking about you behind your back, as it were, when I really wasn't. You have revealed a great deal of hurt and vulnerability in your posts, and had I realized this, I never would have been critical of you. Often the angriest and most defensive are the most fragile and sensitive among us.
I want to apologize-despite your aversion to "apologists"-(may I gently point out that an apologist is actually someone who argues in defense of a position, not someone who literally apologizes- I'm not sure what that would be-maybe an apologizer?) for any part I played in making you feel attacked.

<<Some times the "common good" merely means that the interests of those not yet born who cannot represent themselves are taken into consideration by the state. Ayn Rand (yo' momma!)>> [posted with misattribution by nihil]

Ah... I see... so a grouping of cells, (that can not sustain life on their
own), take precedence over the person carrying it.

Never mind that in specific circumstances, when the fetus finally is born,
the fetus will be born into either poverty, unwanted reception, or
drug-addiction, or ignorance, or whatever other combination that may be
unfavorable.... condemning both the mother and eventual child to a life
of misery... ever perpetrating the stupidity that first originated the
conception.

On top of that, the state for sure "knows best" in the realm of personal
choices.

No wonder there is a strong correlation between poverty, (particularly in
the third world), stupidity, and devotion to religious groups.

No thanks.... in any event that is off topic, and I really do not want to get
into that either.

And I am sure Abraham Lincoln did not say that.

No thanks, not for me.

Actually I wasn't thinking about abortion -- a decision so decisively that of the pregnant woman that it doesn't bear discussion -- but about preservation of the earth and the species. Conservation concerns the common good. Public health concerns the public good. Basic research concerns the common good. Rescuing refugees (like Ayn Rand?) concerns the public good.
