The most interesting points about the TP announcement is what is not in it....

>>>TransPoint is currently in pilots with several financial institutions, including Banc One Corp., KeyBank, Wells Fargo Bank, Citibank, Mellon Bank Corp. and First Union Corp

OK, who is missing from this list?...Merrill Lynch of course. Now why would they not mention Merrill? Banc One was mentioned even though they have cut ties with TransPoint, so why not mention Merrill?......It's because unlike Banc One, Merrill was pissed at TransPoint for continuous mentions of Merrill in TP press releases long after Merrill had cut ties with TransPoint.

>>> The company was formed in June 1997. In early 1999, TransPoint is scheduled to introduce a completely new, seamlessly integrated Internet bill delivery and payment service.

What happened to First? Wasn't TP supposed to be the First integrated Internet bill delivery service?

>>>How low will the voodoo go before turning?

That's the question you can't answer with this stuff....it just tells trend direction.
