Ericsson and BridgePoint Sign $100 Million Agreement

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--Ericsson Communications Inc. and BridgePoint Enterprises Inc. are
pleased to announce the signing of a five-year Master Purchase Agreement with an initial
estimated value of $100 million (CAD). Under the terms of the agreement, Ericsson will be the primary vendor of products and
services to BridgePoint in Canada and worldwide.

The Master Purchase Agreement initially covers the delivery of AXE switching products, Data Networking products, IP
Telephony Solutions as well as related services. An alliance agreement was also signed by the two companies that will provide
Ericsson's global customers with new opportunities to team up with BridgePoint to enter into markets where demands did not
justify their own investments by providing shared switching facilities.

''BridgePoint's business is based on providing high-quality solutions to operators who chose to lease communication services in
North America and world-wide,'' said Mr. Rene Arbic, BridgePoint Canada CEO. ''We need a vendor capable of delivering total
communication solutions for us on a global basis, and this was one of the main reasons for choosing Ericsson. Ericsson's AXE
International Gateway platform will enable us to standardize our world-wide roll out, and we look forward to expanding our
business into areas such as IP telephony and Data networking.''

''We see BridgePoint as an important ally for Ericsson as we continue to grow our business in Canada and around the world,'' said
Johan Lindskog, General Manager, Public Operators for Ericsson Canada. ''Together with BridgePoint, we will bring leading-edge
communications solutions to operators who lease BridgePoint's services in Canada and globally,''

Ericsson is a leader in providing IP-telephony solutions as the convergence between voice and data services continues. Ericsson's
IP-telephony products have wide commercial deployment, and Ericsson's AXE Transgate product is the world's most widely
deployed International Gateway switch.

Mika, The only negative about Fore, is that they apparently
do not compete with Ascend/Cascade/Lucent's or Cisco's Core Networking
ATM (big data pipes) products. I believe that their ATM products
are used more at the edge of the network, and/or in "campus"
applications.
Don't know how this fits into Ericsson's plans, or if/when they
would develop products for Core Network applications.

(Or where Ericsson's AXE switches fit into the overall big
picture)
Perhaps the "editor" could put this into perspective.

Gotta go too,

Mardy.
