John:

I love it. (g) More gasolene on our little bonfire.

Some interesting points.
- The Taiwanese have historically used equity rather than debt. It has stood them in good stead as S.E. Asia has been crushed beneath heavy debts.
- They have made splendid progress through specialization. A few years ago, their chip products were considered less than first rate. That reputation is dissipating fast now.
- Notice that most of the expenditures will be IN-HOUSE,...no new fabs. This is what has been going on for two years. Internal yield improvements will double mbit availability this year at many fabs. Many analysts seem to have missed the significance of this.

Most of the players in the memory business are hand-cuffed to continued investment, continued expansion of production, and continued need for capital. Until things shake out, it will remain a rotten business. Maybe in a few years,.....

Best, Earlie
