Winning Trust on the DigitalMe efforts is imperative to its success. Privacy groups should be targeted of course and how about the American Institute of CPAs giving its WebTrust Seal on websites that qualify...Here is what they have come up with:
-------------
CPA WebTrustSM

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) has broken new ground by offering CPAs the chance to develop a
new business practice: "assuring" that Web sites which offer electronic commerce meet standards of consumer information
protection, transaction integrity and sound business practices.

At its September 16, 1997 Press Conference, the AICPA, with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, introduced the
CPA WebTrust Seal, which CPAs will be able to use to assure consumers that those Web sites bearing the CPA WebTrust Seal are
trustworthy and reliable with regard to confidential consumer information

Novell contacts

You can get Scott's email from his profile on SI. Look him up in people.

I haven't had any private communication with Scott at all about DigitalME --- other than what has been posted here.

In fact I think we can all be proud of this thread when in its best moments it becomes a forum for the exchange of significant ideas. Probably most of you don't remember that there used to be a time when employees of Novell were afraid to visit this site for fear of retribution.

BOY DID SCOTT TURN THAT ONE ON ITS HEAD!!! THREE CHEERS FOR SCOTT.

========

And he had to take quite a bit of the give and take to post here. In the early days we beat him up unmercifally (Okay maybe I beat him up. Okay maybe I'm tough on people sometimes. Okay ENOUGH!)
