Y2K Problems Will Arrive Earlier Than Expected

By Tim Scannell, Computer Reseller News
Companies rushing to complete Y2K corrections and testing before the millennium hammer drops on Jan. 1, 2000, may find problems arriving sooner than expected.

The year 2000 flood gates may open as early as this July, and problems are expected to reach critical levels by October, said Lou Marcoccio, Y2K expert and researcher with Gartner Group/Dataquest. This is the time when a lot of companies start their new fiscal year or begin forecasting for the coming year, he said.
