OT, Tom,

It's always nice to know how people appreciate different cultures and backgrounds, but not to feel "worried" about one another. Only these worries and paranoia could cause some sort of conspiracy theories and problems towards the other. I guess there have been lots of conspiracy theories generated by the neighboring countries towards PRC as a whole. They feel being threatened, but it's nothing more than their own fear. On the other hand, the PRC gov also feel worried about their people being divided and conqueured by external influence, as proved in the history. They thought communism and aetheism could prevent this from happening. But, there's a danger within the society with these ideologies - that is, individual would want to strive into seeking more power and personal wealth in any mean. Ironically, these ideologies don't generate that many special interest groups, which could introduce conflicts among each other - like the way different religions do, for instance. So, what should be the right Utopian society ? Seems like to me...that for one to exist harmony in this diversified world, one should possess polyetheist point of view. Otherwise, people would undermine other people's interests, and that has been the problem in the history of mankind. But, I could be wrong...
