But my point is that Greenspan IS the banks. The federal reserve is run in the interest of the banks, not of our country as a whole. Just like the IMF really IS the banks, too. They implement policy in favor of international banks, not the countries they "serve."

IMHO, the problem is that the banks are allowed to regulate and oversee their own activity. Voila, there is no accountability or responsibility. What do we expect will happen when the fox guards the hen house? Similarly the SEC is another example of bogus regulation. They are going to take a year to study whether leaking inside info to investment companies is a bad idea! They will certainly be "shocked...shocked to find that gambling has been going on here!"
What a crock!

It is our duty as citizens to fight for good government, not to throw up our hands and denounce the existence of government. Government and taxes have always existed; lets do our best to ensure they are used wisely and fairly.
