Computer Network Technology on the rise

Shares of Computer Network Technology Corp. (Nasdaq: CMNT) shot up 2 5/16, or 21 percent, to 13 5/16 Tuesday after Bear Stearns started coverage of the stock with a "buy" recommendation.

Bear Stearns also set a 12-month price target of $18 to $20 a share.

Last quarter, it reported a profit of 11 cents a share.

First Call consensus expects it to earn 9 cents a share this quarter.

The stock peaked at 17 9/16 in January before falling to a low of 3 5/16 in October.

All four analysts following the stock maintain either a "buy" or "strong buy" recommendation.
