New ActiveAnswers Solutions and Complementary E-Services Added to Accelerate Solution Selling and Implementing
Leveraging the Internet to reduce the cost, time and risk in selling, deploying and managing enterprise solutions, Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE:CPQ) today announced major enhancements to ActiveAnswers, compaq.com, the industry-leading online destination for enterprise computing solutions and services.
Customers, systems integrators and resellers can use ActiveAnswers to efficiently locate the tools and information they need to assist them in implementing their enterprise solutions. ActiveAnswers offers new solution areas with tools, guides, methodologies and other resources for implementing applications from Baan, Compaq, Microsoft, Novell and PeopleSoft, in addition to existing solution areas jointly developed with Lotus, Oracle, SAP and others. New complementary e-services have now been added from Arthur Andersen, Compaq Services, NETg and Summit Strategies. ActiveAnswers now also includes solution configurators that are localized for expanded international reach.

New solutions include Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Windows Media Technologies, Novell GroupWise, PeopleSoft ERP, Compaq Insight Manager and ActiveAnswers for Tru64 UNIX. These application areas join already existing solution areas covering Lotus, Oracle, SAP and others. New solutions expected by next month include Compaq ActiveAnswers for Baan.
--ActiveAnswers e-services: ActiveAnswers members now have access to a suite of tools and business resources from Compaq and select industry leaders. The e-services complement ActiveAnswers solutions, providing tailored, added-value content at no charge with additional premium offerings available from each partner. New e-services include interactive computer-based training courses from NETg and customized market analysis reports on key IT topics from Summit Strategies.
