Mama Bear had it right; since there's no rule being broken, there is nothing for them to enforce. However, my scenario is of limited applicability and is easily confused with situations that do violate the rules, so I wouldn't be surprised to find it prohibited nonetheless. That's part of why I asked the question here, hoping to get a response from Steve, since I think I have a better chance for flexibility with a small firm such as his, compared to my current broker.
