You've got it backwards. These message threads are for exchanging information on the topic subject. Personal attacks are off topic.

Who wants to read through personal "pissing matches"? Not me!

Harassment is violation of Authorized Use Policy. If it bugs you, inform the webmistress about it. Other responses are (at best) whining. Do you really desire to project a whining crybaby image? Think about it.

<<There are allot of bugs we deal with everyday that doesn't get reported. Bug happen every day that are not related to Y2K...>>

Hi, Cheeky. What makes the news is what is unusual. How would you like to read the paper today and see an article saying that your neighbor ate breakfast that morning or turn on your tv to see a breaking story about an everyday kid walking to school? ; ) That would be about as interesting as, well, ... this:

theonion.com

As you point out, there are a lot of program bugs everyday; they are not unusual. I think many people view a Year 2000-related failure in a public test to demonstrate readiness as not being an everyday, garden-variety event. Not saying that's the right or wrong view; just saying that's how I think many people look at it and that's why it makes the news.

Best. ...Tim
