Aitch: ".......difficulties with currency exchange rates akin to the Brazilian issue......

Nah! The changeover from national currencies has already happened on 4th January, 1999 at the level of national bank and central bank and in all the bond markets and stock exchanges. The preparation took years and it went very smoothly. The next changeover is from the actually physical currency and that won't be until 2001. I would have thought that the changeover would have generated more orders for COMPAQ, not less. And since it is a software issue (except for currency signs on the keyboards), I cannot see how it can be a major problem for the clients. UNLESS he is suggesting that small businesses are spending their IT budget on euro software compliance rather than on new hardware?

CPQ is going to have to beef up its software offerings.
