>>I hope it's a trend! <<

Me too, but it seems like it could just be the result of minor covering by those who have been making a killing on this stock by shorting between 6&7 and covering in the low fives. Ride that action up & down half a dozen times and you'll have pickedup a couple of years worth of milk money.

Litton Awarded $30 Million Contract For Intelligence Systems Support

WOODLAND HILLS, CA, March 23, 1999 … PRC, Inc., a subsidiary of Litton Industries (NYSE:LIT), announced the award of a $30 million follow-on, recompeted contract for Intelligence Systems Support (ISS) from the North American Aerospace Defense Command/U.S. Space Command (N/U). The N/U ISS contract allows Litton PRC to continue to provide life-cycle support to enhance and maintain intelligence computer systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command, as well as the Air Force and Army Space agencies in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Under the N/U ISS contract, Litton PRC's life-cycle support includes system and network architectures, systems and user training, system administration, library and document management, help desk support, user support, software and security testing, and configuration management support.

The five-year contract, which includes a five-year renewal option, is a single source award. Litton PRC has been performing life-cycle support services for USSPACECOM since August 1994. The original contract was awarded in April 1994 and since then PRC has migrated the Cheyenne Mountain intelligence data handling system from an old mainframe legacy system to a modern Sun Sparc open system architecture. The migration, involving nearly one million lines of code, was done three months early and under budget. The existing system remained operational the entire time.

"We are very pleased that PRC won this recompeted contract," said Alden V. Munson, Jr., Litton senior vice president and group executive, Litton Information Systems Group, to which Litton PRC reports. "Not only does the award reaffirm Litton PRC's ability to perform to the customer's standards, but it also points to our ability to serve the intelligence, space and command and control (C2) arenas throughout the Department of Defense."

Litton PRC, a leading provider of information technology-based solutions, is one of the divisions that comprise Litton's Information Systems Group. Litton PRC is headquartered in McLean, Virginia, employs more than 5,500 in 150 offices nationwide, and is ranked as one of the Federal government's top 10 contractors.

Litton is a leader in worldwide technology markets for advanced electronic and defense systems, and is a major designer and builder of surface combatant ships for the U.S. Navy and allied nations.
