Prozac is an equal mix of both isomers. So 50/50 chance you get R, 50/50 chance you get S. The FDA will not require generic mfg's to prove their fluoxetine batches are equivalent in mix to Prozac. Like any drug, they need only prove bioequivalence which they do in their own small clinical trials. In fact quite a few generic versions are already approved pending Prozacs patent expirations, including Barr Labs version.
