Actually, I'm guessing this was just kinda coincedence. I have to believe that the real reason they are on hold is to allow the AstraZeneca merger complete.

I think we all agree that Leland's bargaining position has never been so strong since the drop.

I believe Vivus said they were awaiting a better offer from a partner undergoing reorganisation and we assume this is Astra.

Either the Astra negotiators were using this as an excuse to remove themselves from Leland's presence as quickly as possible....or they have a genuine interest and had to await finalisation of the merger.

I favour the latter only because of the splash Astra have made about muse on their nice new web site. I don't know of any other evidence.
