Not confusing. The summer quarter (Q1 2000) is always slow so no surprise here. Last year it was the same thing.

I think the earnings number, although in line, put a floor for the stock in low 20s. I doubt it is going to bounce back much(26 tops) . The street has gotten burnt a number of times in trying to call a COMS recovery - so the upgrades will have to wait. Buyback with bad news seldom helps a stock. (if these guys were smart, and thought the stock was undervalued - there would be some insider buying).

Glad to be out of this one for now. May pick up some trading shares in the 22 range if it gets there.

hitesh: Sales forecasting in this sector is only realistic on a quarter to quarter basis. I did not hear of any hiccups for the next Q but it is possible I missed that.

Tomorrow the street will react to the report and CC. That should be a good test regarding the interpretations.
