Paul, Alpha already has that - much faster than the K7. I can only see a couple of minor problems with what you are saying. 1. The 20,000,000 or so applications that don't run natively on Alpha. 2. The somewhat popular operating system called Windows 98 which does not run on Alpha. 3. The 305mm2 Alpha die size which you reminded me of the other day. Are you proposing that Alpha can replace all x86 processors? Scumbria
