NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Technology stocks may get a boost Wednesday following a better-than-expected earnings report from a leading networking specialist. After the market closed, 3Com Corp. (COMS) said it earned 24 cents during its third quarter, beating the First Call consensus estimate by a penny. The company said it also plans to repurchase 10 million shares. Ahead of the news, the stock was down 5/8 to 23 5/8. See Tech Report. An upside swing would come as a relief following Tuesday's rough ride.
