Earlie: this post is from Dell thread. The delivery time for March now is almost a month. Is it because Dell has so many back up orders? or because their physical limitations -- no enough plant facility and qualified human resources -- really put a cap on their growth? Thanks.

Best.

As I wrote the Dell thread, I keep checking the marginal news (no good contacts, alas) to see if our (well, your and MB's, mostly) PC thesis is threatened. Each announcement so far is another nail in the coffin, though. Yesterday's Newport preannouncement was a good example: "Although there are signs that the semiconductor equipment market is improving, and we expect Newport's sales to this market to gain strength in the second half of 1999, activity in this market during the first quarter continued to be weak while our customers worked down existing inventories": biz.yahoo.com Another good one, though mostly for its tone, is theregister.co.uk at the Register UK. Containing a useful tidbit for the boxmakers is another one at theregister.co.uk which shows MSN putting a new spin on the traditional free toaster.

Earlie,

Thanks for your usual excellent explanation on Intel. Your calls on Micron and Dell haven't been half shabby -g-

Earlie, I think there was much more of an absolute channel stuff last year, but there was also unit demand at a price. This year we have a stuff and nobody wants the crap. Like money supply, we also have to look at velocity. <g>
