The Football Network Names Helicon Cable Senior Vice President David Baum to Board of Directors
PR Newswire - March 23, 1999 10:40

LOS ANGELES, March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- TFN, The Football Network, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: TFNK), a cable TV network totally dedicated to football, has named Helicon Cable Senior Vice President David Baum to TFN's Board of Directors.

A highly respected member of the cable industry who has seen a proliferation of successful sports oriented channels, Baum has served as Senior VP of Operations in charge of Helicon cable system operations, programming, and marketing since 1996. In that time, Helicon has increased its subscriber base by 49% percent. Helicon has 171,000 cable subscribers in 10 states and has a current approximate market value of $513 million given current industry valuation levels of $2,500 to $3,500 per subscriber.

Since introduced to TFN, Baum has been instrumental in helping to create the initial distribution terms for the Network through the formation of a distribution contract that is "cable operator friendly" yet retains the highest financial value for TFN.

When asked about joining the TFN Board, Baum said: "Since the first time I heard about TFN I had a strong interest in being part of the Network. Football is not just a pastime, it's a passion. As a Charter Board Member I look forward to making strategic contributions towards TFN's inevitable success. Let's kick off."

TFN President Jantonio Turner added, "We at TFN are continually interested in strengthening our team with more and more industry professionals. I believe we have reached critical mass and each additional team member will only serve to further increase our strength."
