>>Does anyone know the relevants of the March 17 date of record in reference to the stock split. How does the split affect people who buy after the 17th but prior to the 25th.. any help would be appreciated?? Thanks in advance.<<

LPG -

I've often wondered about that. My guess would be that the split goes to the owner of record as of the 17th, but if that entity has sold the shares after the 17th, then they have also sold the right to the stock dividend, so the new owner gets it.

In other words, you can buy right up to the close on the eve of the split, and you still get the dividend (in the form of shares).

Can anyone with more experience confirm this?
