It is easy to blame Dell because their earnings will be coming out
1 month later than most of the big techs. Analyst comments will be forgotton by then. I am glad that Dell started to speak just like Microsoft and Intel (well intel implied that everything is OK).
I guess all three are trying to stop this misinformation. The slowdowns may be in certain companies which are not the most competitive. We know those names.

It would not surprise me that if the selling in these types of companies does not subside, they will start announcing aggressive share buybacks. I think Intel would be at the top of that list since they did the same thing last October (i think it was October not January but they did announce the buyback very close to earnings).
That would not surprise me. I think even MSFT could do such a announcement. Remember, how the October 1997 near crash was halted by a share repurchase announcment by IBM at 10:00 AM that caused one the biggest rallies in the Dow.
If things get any worse for tech----I would not be surprised if a company like MSFT wants to take credit for a reversal just like IBM did in October 1997. It would be great publics relations for them.

I have also been beating the drum about the predictable GAME that the STREET plays when it comes to momentum plays and the run up to earnings.

Everyone needs to go back and read the last weeks worth of posts to get an accurate feel for what the people on this Board have been talking about.

I, for one, think this Group has done an excellent job of describing the many different scenarios that are possibly at work in the Market, and what we feel are the possible outcomes. I will pull up the posts, if needed, that walk everyone through the potential manipulation tactics that the Street may be playing with us, as well as the predictable take down of DELL before this Q's earnings release.

Any and all constructive comments are welcome.
