What's your RTOS application?

You seem typical in that you could use pSOS or VxWorks. I think BIOS customers are less likely to switch vendors than RTOS customers. I think the code is mature and solid for all these products and quality isn't an important consideration. Price and service are more important.

Xionics use pSOS, but Adobe uses VxWorks. Casio uses pSOS for a digital camera, but Kodak uses VxWorks. I can't see any difference in apps, except that ISI has more contacts in the auto industry and Wind River has done better in telecom. Maybe you can shed more light on that issue.

I'm surprised you're having trouble finding VxWorks talent in a hotbed of telecom like DC. I think that bodes well for Pico and Microsoft in the long run, especially as x86 prices come down. I've heard that Wind River charges too much for development tools, but yours is the first license complaint. What was the specific term you found objectionable?

I think believe Phoenix and ISI have a better chance of increasing margin 25% annually because margins are poor now. Wind River can only realistically grow by increasing revenue.

The best thing about Colorado skiing is the large number of warm days. I like winter here better than California, which I wasn't expecting when I moved. The rain comes in April and May when your garden needs it, rather than making winter dreary. Check out Ouray and Telleride next year. If Phoenix goes up, maybe you can afford good family skiing at Snowmass.
