COF (Capital One Financial)...
Depending on what happens early tomorrow, I'm going to act on a long-delayed plan to take a position in this stock. Have personal knowledge of the CEO of this rich and successful company, and obviously he and the company have been good for each other in terms of wealth. The growth potential seems huge, the price pulled back substantially in yesterday's massacre, so maybe it's time. Has anyone else looked into this one?

144 form selling is no big deal. It is not as significant as form 4 selling. Check out the detail under definition section of insider trading from the following site:

companysleuth.com

you should be able to find the info you were looking for there...

Debra,

I wouldn't worry about the 144 filings... the selling of restricted stocks had been going on since Oct 1, 1998 w/r to VRIO... it escalates everytime the stock hits new highs... these new filings are just that, new filings. Except for some increase in the float... there's really nothing to worry about. The rest of these high flyers have bunches of 144 filings every week... it's a fact of life for these "older" IPO's. Today there are 6 144 filings, yesterday 8, and 21 since 3/17... nothing new there.

These are normally mentioned by the shorts to fuel the "fear of the market"... just tactics to scare the uninitiated... the 6 mo old IPO's are beset by these posts... used by Tom Hua, A@P, etc... the doom and gloom squads profit from these stuffs.
