Yes, internal USB devices are technologically possible. However, as far as I know, nobody is making them.

I was thinking about that a few days ago, in relation to Apple. Their new G3s don't have SCSI controllers built in. It would make a lot of sense for them to be able to connect internal drives to either the USB or FireWire buses. Doing so is just a matter of providing the connection inside the box.
