Primo Resources Ltd. Update: Northwestern Argentina Projects
VANCOUVER, BC--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 24, 1999--Primo Resources Ltd. (VSE:PRI - news), is pleased to announce first assays from hole VC07 drilled on the Vallecito prospect, Sierra de Las Minas project, northwest Argentina as reported by Golden Peaks Resources Ltd. (the Operator).

As previously reported, VC07 intersected the mineralized zone at a vertical depth of 75 meters, from 62.5 to 77.4 meters (estimated 6.0 meters horizontal width). The zone carries malachite, chrysocolla and visible gold. Samples from the zone were metallic assayed by Intertek Testing Services (Bondar Clegg). The following intersection was obtained:

26.87 g/t gold, 163.14 g/t silver & 1.10 % copper over 4.5 meters (69.05 to 73.55 meters)

incl 38.41 g/t gold, 239.56 g/t silver & 1.58 % copper over 3.0 meters (70.05 to 73.05 meters)

The zone has now been traced by trenching and shallow drilling (-25 meter intercepts) over a strike length of at least 80 meters. The zone has also been intersected in drilling to 100 meters vertical depth. The zone remains open on strike and to depth.

The following intersections were previously reported:

(To date only assays of -150 mesh material has been received for
holes VC02, VC03 and VC04. Metallic assays are awaited.)

The Company is confident, based on results to date, that this mineralized zone has the potential to host very significant gold, silver and copper mineralization. The Vallecito structure, in which this mineralized zone occurs, carries gold, silver, copper (and lead) mineralized quartz veins intermittently over a distance of some 1,500 meters. This structure will be an important focus of future Company exploration.

Participants in the Sierra de Las Minas/Los Dos Buhos project are Primo, Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, and Golden Peaks Resources Ltd. Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsubishi Materials Corporation can earn a 30% interest in the projects by spending US$1.5 million on exploration over three phases.

ON BEHALF OF THE BOARD DIRECTORS
OF PRIMO RESOURCES LTD.
