WHO: Lee Iacocca, the automotive visionary and driving force

Chrysler Corp., created EV Global Motors in 1997 to develop
and market viable clean-running vehicles to American
consumers.

WHY: As we approach the 21st century, people are in search of more
environmentally friendly modes of transportation. The E-Bike
is designed to be virtually maintenance-free and requires no
gasoline or oil. It is "fueled" by a 24-volt rechargeable
battery system. The E-Bike can reach a maximum speed of
15 mph with a range of 20 miles, further if pedal-assisted.
The battery can be plugged into any standard 110-volt
household outlet and fully charged in four hours.
